From the same find as the above specimen, this vertebra wing measures about 12.5cm (5") in length, 4cm (1.6") in width at it's widest part and 2cm (0.8") deep at it's deepest. Most of the rock matrix has been removed; any that remains works to emphasise itss age. The piece also sports very nice contours. It can be seen that this bone was broken at some stage before fossilisation - possibly an existing injury in the camarasaurus, or maybe caused by scavenging dinosaurs pulling the flesh off the dead animal's back.
